Suggested Retail Prices
The diamond rings and jewelry offered by Shay’s Diamonds may have some form of "Value Indicator" displayed on each item such as a “Suggested Retail” price. The information provided on this page about "Suggested Retail" prices can also be applied to any other "Value Indicator" term we may use or display that references the potential full retail value of an item (such as but not limited to: MSRP; Regular Price; List Price; Estimated Value; Replacement Value; Compare At Value; Item Value; etc.).
When you purchase a diamond ring from Shay’s Diamonds, you do not pay the “Suggested Retail” price – instead, you will be purchasing your ring at “Shay’s Price” (which is our special wholesale price displayed on the item).
The “Suggested Retail” price represents either the manufacturer suggested retail price and/or an actual retail price of a similar item sold by either online jewelry merchants and/or department stores and/or jewelry stores.
“Suggested Retail” prices can also be established by using a retail price formula that the jewelry industry has created for calculating the retail value of gold, diamonds and jewelry. The retail pricing formula we use has been qualified and accepted as a standard pricing model in the diamond and jewelry industry for many years. Weekly wholesale diamond market prices and spot gold prices do fluctuate and are averaged and factored into the overall general retail pricing formula.
“Suggested Retail” prices are displayed to potentially show what the maximum full retail price could be using the established retail pricing mechanisms indicated above. Although we feel our “Suggested Retail” prices may accurately represent the maximum full retail value for the items being offered, Shay’s Diamonds makes no claims or warranties that the “Suggested Retail” price displayed is the certified appraised value or replacement value of the item. We make no warranty that if you have an appraisal performed on an item you purchase, that the appraised value will be the same or higher than the “Suggested Retail” price we displayed. The “Suggested Retail” prices we display have simply been established using the standard pricing methods and criteria indicated above which are acceptable retail pricing formats utilized within the diamond and jewelry industry.
Some of the diamond rings we offer will already come with an appraisal certificate so we will display the “Appraised Value” on these items rather than a “Suggested Retail” price. If your diamond ring comes with an “Appraisal Certificate”, then the value noted on the certificate will have been determined by an actual certified appraisal performed by a qualified 3rd party company other than Shay’s Diamonds. “Suggested Retail” prices may or may not be the same as the value generated by a certified appraisal (for more information on Appraised Values, please click the link). At Shay’s Diamonds, we offer diamonds rings that are both certified and uncertified. You’ll find that many of the rings we offer will already come with certification. There are basically two types of certification a ring can come with:
1) Certificate of Authenticity
2) Appraisal Certificate
